FAQs
Write to us if you have a question or concern related to our products that is not on our list. We usually respond within 24 hours.
1. Is the soap cube better then liquid soap?
Yes. Liquid soap, shower gels, liquid shampoos, supermarket soaps and now liquid sanitisers contain harsh chemicals, fragrances and additives. Commercial products deplete your skin of the moisture it needs to stay healthy. These toxins are drawn through your skin and in the long term, they could add to your health problems. Unlike our soap cubes which have a clear, 100% pure composition which improves the texture of your skin, help to maintain your skin's natural pH balance and form a barrier against environmental irritants.
Furthermore, liquid soaps, shower gels, liquid shampoos and now liquid sanitisers contribute to polluting our Natural Word and to the climate change issues. Unlike our soap cubes which are non-toxic and biodegradable. Our packaging is reusable, recyclable, biodegradable and compostable.
Our 'Natural Defenders' soap collection is 100% naturally Antibacterial, Antifungal and Antiviral which hopefully will help you to reduce the overuse of liquid sanitisers leaving your hands dry, cracked and itching.
2. How long does the soap cube last?
On average a soap cube lasts 2-3 months or longer for one person using it. The soap cubes are cured for a minimum of 8 - 12 weeks to allow for the water to evaporate. In this way it becomes harder and longer-lasting soap.
It also depends how long are you in the shower, your technic of washing yourself and the care of the soap.
3. Why is the soap cube cured for over 8 weeks?
Soap cubes are cured for a minimum of 8 - 12 weeks to allow for the water to evaporate. Due to water evaporation and crystallisation process the soap cubes continue to lose weight. During this process, the weight of each soap cube goes down from over 140g to 130g before they are offered for sale. This is compensated with the increase of glycerine concentration and consequently more voluminous lather. Soaps that are allowed to fully crystallise become harder and longer-lasting. Naturally created glycerine acts as humectant and as emollient hence it aids in skin hydration, improves cutaneous elasticity and epidermal barrier repair.
4. What is the best way to care for the soap cube?
Soap cubes don't like to "sit" in a puddle of water. You can help to keep the soap to stay dry between usage by placing it on a soap dish which allows air flow underneath. Draining it prevents it from turning mushy and extends its lifespan. Avoid direct sunlight as it destroys its therapeutic benefits, fades its scent and colour faster.
5. Do your soap cubes have an expiration date or shelf life?
Our soap cubes are free from artificial preservatives, pigments and fragrances but due to special formulations they have 3 to 10 years of shelf life.
6. Do the soap cubes get old?
Handmade, natural, organic soap cubes if left undisturbed in a cool, dry and dark place, preferably in a draw or a wooden box, remain soap for many years.
7. Does the scent and the colour of soap cube fade?
Yes. The scent and colour of our wildcrafted, 100% pure soap cubes will fade over time. It is a normal occurrence, it happens because the soaps contain essential oils and fresh botanical ingredients (herbs, flowers, leaves, roots and seeds, as well as fruits and veggies). On the flip side the soap cubes are free from toxins, artificial preservatives, pigments and fragrances.
8. Are the wildcrafted ingredients ethically harvested?
Yes. We follow the code of conduct and legal guidance of foraging in the wild. We don't uproot any wild plants. We don't forage rare or endangered plants. If necessary we ask for landowner's permission.
9. Are the soap cubes cruelty-free?
Yes. Our soap cubes are cruelty-free and totally Vegan as certified by the Vegan Society Trademark, the authentic standard for products free from animal ingredients and animal testing.
10. Are the soap cubes Vegan?
Yes. Our soap cubes are 100% Vegan. We don't use any animal produce, that includes honey, beeswax, bee-pollen made by bees; milk made by goats, donkeys or sheep; and Tussah or Mulberry silk made by silkworm.
11. Do you use Palm Oil?
No. We don't use Palm Oil, not even Sustainable Palm Oil or its Derivatives as it contributes to deforestation and climate change. It destroys natural habitat of already endangered species like the Orangutans, and there is also exploitation of workers and child labour taking place. Sadly, Palm Oil and all of the ingredients stated in 10. are still very popular in soaps and other cosmetic products around the world.
