Our goal is to minimise toxins not only in our bodies and our homes but also to eliminate them from pet care! Chemical-free pet care is as important for animals as it is for us since harmful chemicals are absorbed through their skin in the same way as through our skin.

We don't recommend human shampoos or soaps made with lye for dogs. The use of a human shampoo or a soap on a dog's skin can lead to disruption of the sensitive and delicate skin barrier resulting in skin exposure to harmful bacteria, fungi, or yeasts immediately after bathing.

Dog skin is more alkaline than human skin, it can range from 5.5 to 9.1 pH, and it requires some unique care to keep it at healthy levels. A healthy pH balance is a protective barrier that helps fight bacteria. Just as you would look for a shampoo that helps maintain the pH balance of your hair and scalp, you should also consider finding a shampoo that is specifically balanced for a dog's skin and coat. Dog shampoos should be designed in the pH range of 5.8 to 7.0, with an average of 6.5 pH.

Dog skin is also a lot thinner than human skin; our skin is roughly 2-3 times thicker than dog skin! For this reason, dog skin is even more prone to irritation and infection, therefore finding properly formulated doggy skincare products is extra important.
